Newsworthy Newlyweds
Recently, our very own Lead Coordinator, Chelsea got married to her wonderful husband Drew!
Chelsea and Drew are a prime example of a modern fairytale. The pair met on Bumble and went on their first date at a little Italian restaurant in San Marcos. Even though they had just met, they felt like they had known each other for years.
Chelsea remembers having that same peaceful feeling when she saw Drew at the end of the aisle on her wedding day. During the ceremony, as they stood amidst the towering Pecan Grove trees, the wind blew and leaves floated down around them, creating an indescribable magical feeling. It was the perfect way to start their happily ever after.

Ashley Eubanks has been a professional photographer since 2013, when she graduated from The Art Institute of Houston, but has had a passion for photography since she received her first digital camera as a teenager. We had the opportunity to ask her a few questions about why she loves what she does and what she can do for you:
Q: How often do you work with The Waters Point?
A: Last year I photographed 6 weddings at The Waters Point, so I’d say pretty often! I just love the staff so much and am so thankful that they allow me to be one of their preferred vendors. Everyone at The Waters Point makes your wedding day so easy and cater to your needs. The venue is GORGEOUS and has tons and tons of opportunities for photos.
Q: What made you want to be a wedding/lifestyle photographer?
A: I have always had a passion for all types of photography and when I first started I thought I wanted to do fashion, but then I realized that I am just a sappy girl who is a hopeless romantic who wanted to capture photos that mean something to people. I just absolutely love LOVE. Being able to capture the love two people have for each other is honestly a gift that I am honored to be able to give people. I get to freeze time for these couples on one of the biggest days of their lives and that’s just pretty dang cool.
Q: What is your favorite part of photographing weddings?
A: As I mentioned above, one of my favorite parts of photographing weddings is being able to capture the love and emotions of everyone throughout the day but my most favorite part about photographing weddings is just getting to know my couples. I love hearing all the stories about how people met and fell in love. I love getting to know my clients and helping them with whatever they need during the planning process. I want to make their day run as smooth as I can and I feel like really getting to know each client puts them at ease on the actual wedding day and hopefully they can see me as just a friend there snapping some amazing moments for them.
Q: Do you have any advice for future clients/couples searching for a photographer?
A: My biggest piece of advice for couples searching for a photographer is know what style you want in your photos, always ask to see a full gallery of a wedding, and look for someone who makes you feel comfortable. Style is really important when looking for a photographer. Make sure you talk to your photographer about how they shoot and if they do more posed photos or more candid interactive photos etc. Seeing a full gallery of a wedding should give you a better idea of how your entire day will look. Just because you’ve seen all the perfect “Instagram” photos doesn’t mean you’re going to like their style for let’s say the reception. Make sure you find someone who you are comfortable being around the entire day of your wedding and that’s going to bring ease to the whole process.

Ranking in at #1 in The Knot’s top 2020 wedding trends is green weddings. Recycled paper invitations, locally sourced farm-to-table meals, repurposed heirloom rings and upcycled wedding dresses are a few ways recent newlyweds have made their commitment to each other and to mother nature.
Something Borrowed, Something Blue
The latest staple in men’s wedding fashion is the navy suit. Blue suits have been popular for years, and trend experts at WeddingWire and The Knot agree that the colorful twist on a classic isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Blue suits are perfect for a pop of personality or to add a more casual feel to your outdoor wedding. For the less traditional man in your life, navy suits are the way to go.
